A new Indian restaurant named Amrut is opening at Brambleton Corner Plaza, located at the intersection of Northstar Boulevard and Evergreen Mills Road in Ashburn's Brambleton neighborhood. The space was originally intended to become a third outlet for the local Biryani Grill chain, which already operates locations in South Riding and Ashburn. However, the owners of Biryani Grill concluded that placing three locations in such close proximity would not be the right move, and opted instead to launch Amrut as an entirely distinct concept. Amrut is designed to function as two restaurants in one: a full-service, upscale dining room with a full bar and its own unique menu separate from anything found at Biryani Grill, and a fast-casual counter-service section where guests can order and receive food more quickly. The combined space totals approximately 5,700 square feet, with seating for about 130 guests on the full-service side and 30 to 40 seats in the fast-casual area. The full-service menu will feature dishes including Bang Bang Gobi, Baby Corn Pepper Fry, Gun Powder Prawns, and Naga Chicken Wings. Texas-based Hashtag India opens first Virginia outpost at Broadlands Village Center in Ashburn
Hashtag India, an Indian restaurant chain headquartered in Irving, Texas, near Dallas, is bringing its first Virginia location to Loudoun County, opening at Broadlands Village Center at the corner of Broadlands Boulevard and Claiborne Parkway. The chain bills itself as purveyors of authentic Indian food, with a menu centered on mandis — a dish featuring slow-cooked meats served over aromatic rice, comparable in spirit to biryani. Hashtag India is taking over a roughly 4,000-square-foot space previously occupied by Akshaya Patra, an Indian cuisine concept that had operated there for approximately a year and a half before announcing a temporary closure. At the time of the September 2025 report, Hashtag India operated eight locations across Texas, Nevada, and Georgia. Beyond the Ashburn opening, the chain also had stores in the works for Maryland and California, making the Loudoun County location part of a broader East Coast expansion push.
